Education, Prevention and Outreach
We provide speakers, training, educational materials, newsletters, information
packets, posters, brochures and participate in community awareness
presentations and health fairs for various churches, organizations and community
groups. We aired a weekly radio broadcast for two years (1997 and 1998) on a
local African American Christian Radio Station.
Specialized Programs to Meet Special Needs
Many battered women experience difficulties accessing resources due to specific
cultural or language barriers. Also, a majority of welfare recipients have and still
are experiencing abuse. Specialized programs, outreach and prevention services
are readily available for women of color, women in recovery from drugs and
alcohol, women who are mentally challenged, women age 50 and over and teen
girls. These programs gives girls and women the resources, opportunities and
courage to change their lives for the better.
The African American Community
"Mending Broken Hearts And Lives" address the physical, emotional, spiritual
needs and special interest that are unique to the African American woman.
